The greatest evil is to tolerate harm” – Plato

Due to the increasingly dramatic situation in Ukraine, caused by an aggressive and unforgiving attack by Russia, the number of refugees on the Polish-Ukrainian border who hope to obtain safe haven in our country is growing. These refugees are primarily women with children, whose reality was destroyed by rockets, hail falling on their homes, schools, kindergartens.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the Ukrainians have shown great courage, determination and fortitude in the fight against the invader who is trying to take away their freedom and trample on their dreams of an independent Ukraine. We Poles know perfectly well what the Soviet occupation is, how difficult, long and exhausting the fight is, and that such a fight cannot be won alone.

Edmund Burke, an Irish philosopher and politician, once said that “For the triumph of evil, it is only necessary that good people do nothing”, so as Spartaqs we decided to actively support Ukraine and its citizens.

Today – 01.03.2022 in cooperation with, among others, Kira Sukhoboichenko and her Flying Backpacks Foundation, the Open Tourism Organization, Iris Travel from Ruda Śląska and thanks to the help of many good people who together with us opened their hearts to the harm and suffering of Ukrainian families, we sent the first transport to the border, which will bring several Ukrainian families with children, who already have an apartment with food and legal and psychological and medical assistance on site. Those who, out of the goodness of their hearts, have made their homes and premises available to refugees free of charge, have also declared free food assistance, for which we are very grateful. The support provided so far is invaluable in this difficult situation.

We organized a fundraiser, thanks to which we were able to prepare packages containing basic necessities for new arrivals, both for adults and children.

We are also in constant contact with organisations that will help to find work, schools or kindergartens for children, to help refugees find themselves in a new situation after this difficult experience.

We would like to thank all those who have so far supported the action of helping Ukraine. If anyone would like to join us and offer their help, we encourage you to contact us through our FB profile.

Already Napoleon said: “There is nothing impossible for my Poles” – every day of the conflict in Ukraine confirms that we Poles are up to the task and that we do not leave those who need it without help.
