Intensive work on the construction of Heracles V8ASD – a development version of the Fire Fighter drone, whose design has been modified to adapt to the new task during the coronavirus pandemic – antiseptic spraying of surfaces and objects – has been underway for several months.
After conducting a series of test disinfection flights in the Spartaqs company and on the premises of the Central European Drone Demonstrator, it is time to check how such a service could take place in real conditions.
Dronoid Heracles V8ASD with 10 liters of antiseptic fluid on board, under the watchful eye of a group of operators and observers from the company Spartaqs, performed test disinfection of benches at Artificial Rawa in the Market Square in Katowice.
The first phase of testing in the city required the procedure to be carried out manually for both security and research purposes, the purpose of which was to collect as much data and information as possible about platform control, spraying methods and precision in disinfection. All data collected by the experts of the Spartaqs Group is currently being analyzed.
After completion of the research, the target design of the Heracles drone will be created, which will be able to carry 25 liters of antiseptic fluid on board, equipped with specialized sensors so that the platform will bypass obstacles and propeller guards adapted to work in urban space. The final construction will perform its task remotely in an automated manner.
You can see a footage from yesterday’s tests in Katowice, and we invite you to follow the progress of the Heracles V8ASD drone.
